Hardware Removal Surgery Recovery Time

Hardware Removal Surgery Recovery Time - I have heard that recovery from removal of the hardware is much. I'm worries about extending the recovery time, and the ensuing changes that. Before the surgery i was fairly active, playing soccer (football) up to four times a week, as well as basketball. I can't imagine even thinking about having the hardware removed, certainly not in the first twelve months anyway. My orif surgery was in canada and my surgeon's viewpoint is that the hardware will be permanent unless it is really bothering me. The palm of my hand is still a little numb (feeling comes back more and more each day but) and is still a bit swollen and tender but the surgeon said this is nothing to worry about. Is there anyone out there that has been in the same situation, and if you can let me know the recovery time, pain etc. If it does present a problem and i choose to have it. My surgeon tells me as it is taking the hardware out that recovery time is.
